Harry's Priorities
Our City is changing.
For generations, Charleston was driven by the Peninsula.
Our City is changing.
For generations, Charleston was driven by the Peninsula.
However, Charleston has sprawled to include valuable areas such as West Ashley, John’s Island, and Daniel Island. These suburbs give Charleston character and have also drastically changed the population dynamic. West Ashley is the fastest growing area of Charleston. As a lifelong resident of West Ashley, I have seen a drastic increase in development and traffic. There have been few infrastructure or drainage improvements to handle these massive projects.
I promise that things will change.
West Ashley can never again be an afterthought. We need to be progressive in terms of flood mitigation. Developers need to know that because Charleston is so desirable, they will need to improve our conditions to ever have a chance to build here. Let’s treat our residents as well as we treat our tourists. Just remember that I am here to serve you, protect you, and fight for you. That is my promise today and it will continue to be my promise as long as you give me the privilege to serve.

Harry Griffin talks about the need to create unique employment opportunities in the City to help those who are struggling and need rehabilitation.
